Day 15

Week 3 Day 2

March 30, 2021

As Kermit the frog and Fozzie the bear would say we are “moving right along.” Our E aspect of WELCOME today, stands for Enjoyment. Its Merriam Webster definition states, the condition of enjoying anything or that which gives pleasure or keen satisfaction.  1 Timothy 6:17 (New American Standard version) reads, “instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy. Vs18 continues, instruct them to do good, be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share.” The KJV uses I charge you not just instruct. To me this is not just a statement it’s a challenge to us to fix our hope on God. Who gives us more than we ask to enjoy not just for us but especially with other people. It is your richness, or realness when you connect to someone to make them feel at ease and at home.  To enjoy something or someone is not joy, joy emanates from Jesus and flows out of us. Enjoying is the intended act or expression reception which results from the joy engaging, making that connection.

I know it does not seem like there is much difference. Your expression is what people sense and read about you. I need you to key in here, with me, on reception or receiving for a sec. There are two ways receiving takes place. One, You, receive from God and give away so someone can receive from you. Two, the other person is the recipient. In the right atmosphere of sharing, they will be willing to experience and accept what you have given to them, it does not matter what form it comes in. When Jesus healed people, did miracles, etc. it was not always the same exact way. He freely gave His life to them, it was received, in turn, he showed them what home looked like. He has given us the same assignment. Show people home, so they receive the enjoyment from what you have so lovingly shared with them.” Freely receive freely give. “(Matthew 10:8b)

I know this one was not as long which for some of you could use a nice reading break anyway. It is however no less valuable to learn. Remember a receptacle can only hold so much, so don’t overwhelm the person right off. Ask the Holy Spirit what He needs to give them so it will be well taken. They in return can do the same for someone else down the road. People learn from watching others. Teach them to be givers because you have been given soooo much!

Let’s pray friends…Lord thank You for giving us Your Holy Spirit to stick closer to us than a brother. Please teach me how to hear what You desire to give someone else through me so they can receive the act or expression You want to bestow. You have given me so much more than I can keep for myself. Help me to give it an intentional way like You, Jesus would do. I can only hold so much, please give me wisdom and discernment to give away so there is always more room for You. Prepare those, in advance, who’s hearts, minds, ears, and spirit to be the receptacle for what You would have me do or share with them so they may do the same for someone else. In Jesus name, Amen.
